CHOOSE YOUR WEAPONS WISELY

The Crown started rehearsals at the Seattle home of Greg Meredith before entering the famous Bear Creek Studios to record their third album that went through several possible titles until finally being called Choose Your Weapons Wisely. Richard Sylvarnes documents the band’s creative process revealing that musical collaboration can be combative, sometimes harmonious, and, at times, ecstatic. Seasoned musicians from across America are brought in to the studio and must learn complicated music and difficult rhythms in a matter of days since the clock is always ticking with a sense of urgency. Through the extraordinary intimate documentary we see musicians, sometimes by sheer will and determination, bring new music to life. And in the end we are reminded that the verb for musicians is to “play”.
